We’ve hosted a lot of charities. BRA was different — they didn’t talk at our young people, they listened first. Two of our Year 10s are now trained ambassadors and leading the work themselves.

As a parent of a neurodiverse son, I’d been told “boys will be boys” by three different schools. BRA was the first place that took it seriously and gave me the words to use. My son is back in school now.

I came to BRA ashamed and quiet. I left with a voice. The ambassadors didn’t just listen — they helped me write the email to my head of year I’d been too scared to write for months. Six months later, I’m an ambassador myself.
