Bullying Recovery and Awareness CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, ambassadors, and trustees.
Our commitment
We recognise that the young people who come to BRA are often in distress. We hold ourselves to the highest safeguarding standards — not because we have to, but because the people we serve deserve nothing less.
Designated Safeguarding Lead
Dr Oge Ilozue (Director) is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. She can be contacted at safeguarding@bra-cic.com for any safeguarding concern, disclosure, or allegation.
What we do
- All staff and volunteers are DBS-checked before working with young people
- All staff and volunteers complete safeguarding training before delivery, with annual refreshers
- Two designated safeguarding leads are present at every BRA event
- We never work alone with a young person — always in pairs or groups
- We do not provide counselling or clinical services — we signpost to qualified professionals
- We follow the four R’s: Recognise, Respond, Record, Report
